Where to stay in Cappadocia (Goreme) Turkey

best places to stay in Turkey
Welcome to beautiful Cappadocia

For me Cappadocia (Goreme) has always been my dream destination - I remember finding out about this mystical land while working in Turkey in 2014, seeing pictures of cave hotels and hot air balloons and not believing it was real. How could somewhere so beautiful exist just a one-hour plane flight from Istanbul? It took me 2 years to finally see it for my own eyes - and don't take it lightly when I say this - it is one of the most indescribably breath-taking places on this planet. I think its about time you dropped everything and travelled to Cappadocia, Turkey!

There are a few towns that make up Cappadocia, but by far the most stunning - and with everything you could need without being too touristy - is Goreme. I would highly recommend you staying there.

So, first of all, when you get to Kayseri airport (the one you need to fly to get to Cappadocia), which is easiest from Istanbul. You will either need to arrange transportation from your hotel, get a private transfer, or taxi. I had my transfer sorted with my hotel for 25 lira (approx $8.50 USD) and the trip took around 1 hour. * Guys, don't forget you may need a visa for Turkey! Check here if your passport requires one*

10 reasons I love this hotel

Balcony of Aydinli Cave Hotel

  1. It is absolutely beautiful
  2. It is family-run
  3. It is set in a cave!
  4. The view is stunning (especially to watch the balloons)
  5. Very reasonably priced
  6. The best breakfast ever!
  7. Amazing friendly and fun staff
  8. They run private tours
  9. Cosy yet huge rooms
  10. Free car service around town

Aydinli is only a few minutes walk to the main street of the town and is also only a few meters from some of the best restaurants in Goreme. I absolutely loved my 3 nights there and really enjoyed getting to know the staff - who are all one big happy family - and enjoying the spectacular view.

If I'm honest I wish I stayed a few more days just to relax in the hotel and drink Turkish coffee on their balcony.
